5 Self Care Tips to do During COVID-19

For many of us, we look forward to visiting our hairstylist, aesthetician or nail technician regularly. Getting to sit back and have a professional help us feel our best helps improve our moods and self confidence. But what do we do when we can't leave our homes for weeks or months on end?


It is important for all of us to still take that time to practice self care. But what are some ways you can achieve that at home? We have created a guide of different self care activities you can do to feel better while still maintaining social distancing!



1.) Take time to do your full shower routine, regularly.

Carve out some time in your day to give yourself a great scalp massage, apply a conditioning hair mask and use an exfoliating body wash. You will feel so refreshed when you get out and your hair and skin will thank you!




2.) Wash your pillow case weekly.

This will prevent the build up and spread of bacteria on your pillowcase from causing acne on your face. If you don't already have one, invest in a silk pillow case to keep your hair from tangling while you move around in your sleep!


3.) Paint your nails.

Even if you don't get your nails done very often, a fresh coat of polish will always make your hands look great. Apply it while watching an episode of your favourite TV show so that it has time to dry. Don't forget to moisturize your hands so that they don't dry out from all of your handwashing too!




4.) Do your makeup and hair, dress up and have a date night.

Even if it is just you, take some time once a week to get dolled up! Quarantined with your hubby? Take this opportunity to get dressed up, cook a nice meal and have a date night in together! You don't have to eat out at a fancy restaurant to put on a cute outfit and enjoy a meal.


5.) Do your skincare routine every night.

It is so important to do your skincare routine every night even if you are not wearing makeup daily. Oil, dirt and impurities will still build up on your skin. Exfoliating every 2-3 days will also keep your skin looking fresh by sloughing off the dead skin sitting on top of your skin. This is a great time to start your skin on a routine and get yourself into healthier skin habits for the future.
